Unanimous approval of the plan by the Energy and Climate Action Committees and Town staff.

Truro Receives First Green Communities Grant

$141,200 to fund energy conservation measures, grant support, anti-idling, weatherization, DHW upgrade, HVAC fuel conversions, and tankless HW with controls, in municipal facilities including Public Safety Building, Community Center, Town Hall and Library.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of the townspeople, the Annual Town Meeting passed the four warrant articles necessary for qualification as a Massachusetts Green Community.

Energy Reduction Plan

In 2009 we spent $311,000 on municipal energy costs. It's the town's 3rd largest expense category. About half that energy cost was for electricity.
